In our Art 1 class we spent a few days working on shading, which is one of my favorite things to work on. I like shading because it really makes what you are drawing or painting or whatever media you are using come to life and look more three dimensional. We had to pick pictures that covered all of the lights and darks of the value scale. We then used a stump, a rolled up piece of paper, to blend the darks, mediums, and lights together to show off the shadows and light spots of the picture.
